Why is Milestone planning to hire a pastor now?

• We feel the timing is right to hire a pastor who will be able to help us champion Milestone’s vision, mission, values and beliefs.  Our new pastor will have a hunger to build-up and grow Milestone Church and reach those in our community who are seeking, starting or returning to faith.

 

How long will this take?

• We hope to have the pastor in place by beginning January 2026.

What will be the main responsibilities of the new pastor?

• Providing spiritual leadership for the church through partnering with the Board.

• Working together with the Board to discern and recommend new Elder candidates to the Board.

• Providing current and relevant messages, in tandem with using video messages from North Point Ministries.

• Collaborating with the pastoral/community care team in key moments, including baptisms, baby dedications, funerals, hospitalization, and counselling.

• Presenting the Bible in ways that are clear and relevant to everyone, especially those who are seeking, starting, or returning to faith.

• Collaborating with the outreach team to create partnerships with other local non-profit groups providing assistance in the community.

 

Will there still be teaching from North Point Communicators?

• Yes, the new pastor will have the opportunity to teach, in rotation, alongside other North Point Communicators such as Andy Stanley.

 

How will this change things at Milestone Church?

• The main change is that the pastor will be able to take over a lot of the daily activities that keep the church running efficiently.

• The hiring of a pastor will not change our vision, mission, or beliefs but we are confident that a pastor will enable us to live out our mission, vision, and beliefs more fully.
