WHO WE ARE
Doing church for those who don't do church.
Exploring who Jesus is and the life He offers.
At Milestone, we simply want to be known for what we are FOR. We believe people matter so we will volunteer our time, use our talents and share our resources. We are committed to being FOR YOU and FOR GUELPH!
At Milestone, we've created six Cultural Values that are designed to act as guard rails to remain focused on our mission, vision and strategy.
WE ARE ALL IN
Am I all in by offering my time and resources? Milestone encourages people to go the extra mile and participate in something beyond themselves.
WE ARE OTHERS FOCUSED
Am I inward focused or others focused? Milestone seeks to create user-friendly environments. We want people to love being here.
WE AIM FOR SIMPLICITY
Am I instilling simplicity in what I do? Milestone is determined to replace complexity with simplicity. We know life is busy, so let’s keep it simple.
WE TAKE THE INITIATIVE
Am I willing to do whatever it takes no matter what the challenge? Milestone is inspired when others think outside the box, dream big and resolve a challenge. We want great leaders to come and stay.
WE EXPECT EXCELLENCE
Am I allowing what is good to stand in the way of what could be excellent? Milestone is satisfied with nothing less than the very best in everything we do. Excellence shows that we care about you the minute you walk through the doors.
WE STRIVE FOR UNITY
Am I advancing our mission, vision and strategy? Milestone is driven by the fabric of who we are, why we exist, and how we execute it. We want people to be united by the mission, vision and strategy.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God written by those who were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without any mixture of error.
We believe in one personal God who can be known and who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Saviour of the world gone astray.
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him and have tremendous potential for good but we became alienated in that relationship through disobedience called sin. As a result, this attitude separates humanity from God and therefore we are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their our own efforts.
We believe that when Jesus Christ, died on the cross, His blood and death provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin no matter what a person has done wrong.
ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
ABOUT THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the world gone astray.
