Why Is Milestone Hiring A Pastor?

We feel the timing is right to hire a pastor who will be able to help us champion Milestone’s vision, mission, values and beliefs. Our new pastor will have a Spirit-filled hunger to build-up and grow Milestone Church and reach those in our community who are seeking, starting or returning to faith.

How Long Will The Process Take?

We will post the job description on Sept. 2024 (specific date?) and hope to have the pastor in place by the fall of 2025.

What Happens If You Don't Find A Suitable Pastor?

The Leadership Team will have to meet and decide on whether to launch another search right away or postpone it.

What Will Be The Main Responsibilities of the Pastor?

Overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the church
Collaborating with the pastoral/community care team in key moments, such as baptisms, hospitalization, and counselling
Teaching on Sunday mornings, in tandem with using video messages from North Point Ministries and Andy Stanley
Heading up programs for Milestone Youth and Young Adults
Overseeing Small Group activities

Will There Still Be Teaching From Andy?

Yes, as gifting and capacity allows, the new pastor will have the occasional opportunity to preach in rotation alongside the teaching from North Point Communicators such as Andy Stanley.

Will This Be A Full-Time Position?

At this point, we’ll be hiring someone for three days a week, with the option to increase their hours over time. Our longer-term goal will be to have the pastor become full-time.

Will This Change Things At Milestone?

The main change is that the pastor will be able to take over a lot of the daily activities that keep the church running efficiently. The hiring of a pastor will not change our vision, nor our mission, or beliefs but we are confident that a pastor will enable us to live out our mission, vision and beliefs more fully.
